Supersonic is the first album of the Amsterdam based producer L'equipe du Son. He was highly influenced by disco n eighties music while he grew up and you'll find the Supersonic album to be a great Reminiscence to those periods with a modern day edge. This is also reflected in the way the album is produced, a mixture between oldschool hardware and modern day DAWs.
The album is built up from Nudisco tracks to a more classic French electro sound and is finally finished by an electronic styled tracked called ‘epilogue: the sweatshirt’.
Most tracks have already been released as singles i.e. the very successful Lesson 1 ep, which was cruising comfortably in Juno's singles Top 5 chart for several weeks. The eps are all complemented with some of the scenes hottest artists like, Alphabet City, The Outrunners, Rayko, Keenhouse, 80s Stallone, Dynamicron, Yasumo and The Legendary 1979 Orchestra.
Playground Rebels was first featured as a B-side track on the Nighttime Warriors ep but in light of the massive MASSIVE responses we got on this track and to celebrate the release of L'Equipe du Sons album Supersonic we decided to give this Disco banger its own release with some of the chain remixes by the likes of Alphabet City, 80s Stallone and Dynamicron.
Both the Supersonic album and the Playground Rebels ep will be available on the 23th of April 2012 on all major portals!
Silenx is Joel Azevedo, a Portuguese producer with quite some skills. His music is heavily 80’s Synthsizer Funk influenced Dreamwave. One minute you are treated to a slap bass frenzy and squelchy Moog lead lines, the next it’s deep, multilayered synth soundtrack stuff. Complex and analog sounding, Silenx’s productions are the perfect 80’s soundtrack tunes, but teen movie fodder this ain’t!
Although Stellar Kiss does bring back some joyfull memories; Remember how Ferris Bueller tricks his high school principal Mr. Rooney?.. Sweet!

The 'Gina was a Dancer' ep packs two originals, 'Gina' and 'She Was A Dancer'. It has that classic French electro sound to it and is characterized by big fat sawtooth basslines, lush melodies and phat synth pads. Gina comes with a remix of the notorious Wolfman. There's not a whole lot to tell about this guy except that he loves to play ball! She was a Dancer has been the inspiration for the artwork and comes with a remix from non other then THE OUTRUNNERS!! Legendary from their contribution to the French-based Valerie Collective andstill rockin it hard!
This ep is from an artist known as 80s Stallone. His sound could best be described as..., well as 80s. Ingredients for both originals are: awesome juno-like synths, a finger-licking sweet bassline and ofcourse speaker blowing snare drums. This release is accompanied with two remixes! L'Equipe du Son brings his self proclaimed Deep-n-Disco vibe to the remix. The second remix is from The Legendary 1979 Orchestra. We first came in contact with TL79O for his remix on L'Equipe du Son's 'Lesson 1' and it was mindblowing! So yeah, he kinda set the bar for himself but we feel he really stepped up to the plate with yet another smashing remix!
After showing our romantic side with L'Equipe du Son's 'Lesson 1' we thought it was time to show some masculinity with Mr. Akitar's '1978' ep. You might have heard of Justice well this is Mr Akitar telling you there aint no justice!
Inspired first by electro 80, Public Enemy, mob deep, wu tang,to whom he listens non-stop, his nightclubbing activities lead him to discover electronic music: Daft Punk, Ellen Alien, Plaid... Mining this new musical seam, Akitar pursues his passion, blending various influences, drawing mainly upon hip hop, soul, electro and 8bit… Self-taught and single minded, the producer's hat fits him like a glove. Today, with the collectives "Les Gens Qui Vous Veulent Du Bien",he delivers an energetic set that distils a resolutely effective sound that camps out at the frontiers of Club and 8Bit.
Lesson 1 is already the third single of L’Equipe du Son’s forthcoming debut album ‘Supersonic’. After the success of ‘Love Will Find A Way’ LEDS come with an educational piece, ‘Lesson 1 (French for romantic purposes)’.
The original version is a mixture between disco-mood sounds and breathy pop, deeply influenced by the synthesizer sounds of the 70s and 80s.
The first remix comes from The Legendary 1979 Orchestra and with carefully crafted swirling bells and warm synthlines the TL1979O remix has actually continued in the style of the original.
Hailing from Melbourne’s Inner-West it’s Silhouette Music regular Yasumo providing an entirely new approach. A perfect blend of guitars and, well, pure funk!
Rayko has an impressive portfolio of releases under his belt and has an almost insatiable thirst for editing both classics and lost gems in his distinctive and infectious style. This remix is only a confirmation of this, noticeable from the moment you hear the first bass key, it’s disco baby!
Hailing from Melbourne’s Inner-West, the pair comprising of Yanni Nair and Simon Salerno are a Dj collision course with undeniable far-reaching appeal. With influences cited from Chromeo to Earth, Wind and Fire and Duck Sauce to George Benson; the boys integrate elements of their preferred music styles to then stamp it with their signature flair. Self-proclaimed as falling under the disco/funk/French-house barrier, Yasumo are causing dance-floor antics by simply “putting our own spin on the music we love.”
Having supported the likes of international heavyweights Pete Tong and Grum, the duo are only just getting warmed up. A solid residency at Mynt Lounge’s Boombox Saturday’s and guest spots around town there is no denying the pairs unparalleled vibe.

The Hudson Dialog is a highly mixable 2 track ep for every set. "Darlings on Charlie" immediately gets you in the groove of the ep with warm pads and some oldskool sampling. "What This Stuff" brings the funk n fills the floors. So get the record and start talking Tony.
